Data4Impact Workshop

This full day program provides opportunities for participants to work with schools that are taking a deep dive into using data to improve outcomes for learners in their school. During the day participants will be able to hear updates from DfE and engage in 2×90 minute workshops facilitated by school leaders who will share their journey, strategies and insights in using data with staff and students. There will be opportunities for participants to consider applications in their context throughout the day.

Audience:
Data4Impact is aimed at school leaders looking to hear about, engage with and learn from the experience of their secondary school colleagues. Perhaps consider bringing along a school-based team!

Sessions:

Data-Driven Student Empowerment: Implementing Dashboards for Enhanced Learner Agency.
Theo Papazoglov (Adelaide Botanic High School) & James Dundon (Modbury High School)
Join us for a dynamic 90-minute workshop delving into the powerful intersection of student dashboard development and data-driven strategies to enhance learner agency. Theo will lead discussions on student dashboard development and effective implementation strategies, while James will explore the potential of using data to empower learners and promote agency within educational settings.

From Data to Impact: Evolving our school data strategies
Nathan Cini (Mitcham Girls’ High School) & Sarah Chambers (Morialta Secondary College)

Join us for an interactive workshop, where we will share our own stories of how we have evolved our school data strategies to effectively collect, collate, analyse and communicate information to increase the meaningful impact that data has in our schools. The workshop will be hands on, and we will support you with ideas, examples and opportunities to work through elements of your own strategy and plan some data collection mechanisms.

Knowing our Learners: Personalisation, Differentiation and Conditions for Learning.
Rowan Hearne (Riverbanks College), Kirsty Gebert & Mitch Asser (Banksia Park International High School)
“Knowing our Learners” is essential for personalizing education. PowerBi and Daymap offers numerous opportunities for this. Kirsty and Mitch will guide you through various data sets and records that empower teachers to understand their learners, address their educational needs, and effectively support the OnePlan and NCCD processes. Rowan will show how his school uses data analysis for teachers and leaders to enhance wellbeing, behavior, and attendance in the Conditions for Learning framework. We challenge you to evaluate your school’s current processes, consider how your staff engages with data, and determine how these practices improve their effectiveness.
