At our SASPA 2022 Conference, we had staff from Prospect Primary School, Para Hills High School and Heathfield High School on how they have included Nurture groups into their sites. This breakout session was very highly received and people wanted more! With our twilight session, we can allow this opportunity to reach a wider audience and for people to extend their thoughts around Nurture Groups in secondary schools.

Nurture groups are predominantly primary-school, evidence-based intervention groups that aim to improve the students’ ability to manage themselves and their behaviors, whether these are internalised or externalized. The program aims to ensure that students are enabled to successfully manage an average mainstream school environment without significant further supports within 2-4 terms of intervention.
